EVEREST
This is the story of a 1996 expedition in which two groups attempted to reach the summit of the Mount Everest and got hit by one of the fiercest snowstorms in Everest’s history. It’s a heroic battle to survive against nearly impossible odds.
MERU
Meru, a documentary film by three elite climbers on their conquest of the Meru peak in the Indian Himalayas. They become the first to scale the Meru – one of the toughest climbs in the world. It’s a beautifully crafted documentary but more impressive is the superhuman perseverance, determination and friendship that made this feat possible.
SEVEN YEARS IN TIBET
During the World War II in 1939, Heinrich Harrer, an Austrian mountain climber decides to join an expedition to climb the Himalayan Peak – Nanga Parabat but gets arrested by the British. In 1944, he escapes with his fellow mountaineer and travels through the Himalayas to reach Tibet. He is welcomed at the holy city of Lhasa and eventually becomes friend of the Dalai lama.
THE SUMMIT
The Summit is the story of the deadliest 48-hour period ever spent on the K2, world’s most dangerous mountain. In August 2008, 22 climbers from several international expeditions converged on their climb to the K2. On the way to the summit, 11 climbers meet their misfortune in a series of tragic events. It’s a powerful film that reiterates the human vulnerability to the forces of nature.
THE WAY BACK
An epic story of six men who escape from a Soviet prison in 1941 and walk a whopping 4,000 miles to India. They are joined by a teenage girl who accompanies them on this unbelievable journey across Siberia, China, the Gobi desert, Tibet and the Himalayas. This movie is dedicated to them and their journey towards freedom.
